            The College was founded in 1854 and is recognised by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and accredited by the National Board of Accreditation (NBA). In the Outlook-ICARE ranking for 2021, COEP is spotted at rank 18 among the Government Engineering colleges. The College offers various UG, PG and PhD courses in Management, Engineering and Technology streams. Students can also pursue one year PG Diploma programmes, selection to which are made through an online test/ interview.  
             The objective of the institute is to produce capable technical graduates, nurture them and make them ready for future industry challenges. The college lays strong emphasis on practical training and research which has led to the enrichment of students. It also meets international quality when it comes to the faculty, course curriculum and facility of College of Engineering, Pune.

The BTech programme is offered for a duration of four years while MTech is a two-year programme. The UG courses offered are BTech and BPlan. The total intake of the BPlan course is 60, whereas for BTech it is 570.
