            Indian Institute of Technology Bombay is a public college. Established in 1958, the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay was the first to have laid its foundation stone with assistance from UNESCO. In 1961, it was declared as an Institute of National Importance by the Parliament of India. The institute is ranked as the top most IIT in the QS rankings 2021 with a position of 172 in the global rankings. In addition to this, as per the list released by the QS World Rankings 2022, IIT Bombay is the top institute in India securing its rank at 177. 
             Indian Institute of Technology Bombay invites 18 companies, including Google, Texas Instruments, Qualcomm, Boston Consulting Group, Microsoft, Apple, Bain, and Company at placements drive of 2020-21. These companies were also among the highest job providers for domestic jobs to the final year students. The highest package offered was Rs 1.63 crore per annum by Sony Japan. Optiver made the highest international offer to IIT Bombay placement 2020. Day one concluded with 313 job offers that included both PPO and internships. IIT Bombay started its placements drive of 2020-21 Phase-1 from December 1, 2020.
